Vermont's Clancy Rugg has been selected as the StatSheet America East Player of the Week for the week ending January 21st. StatSheet's America East Freshman of the Week goes to Albany's Peter Hooley.
Rugg was the America East leader in free throws (8.5 per game). He also put up 50% shooting, 9 rebounds per game, and 17.5 points per game. The Vermont junior played well for the Catamounts in wins against Binghamton and Stony Brook.
Rugg added 16 points and 3 rebounds in 27 minutes in a big 61-37 win against Binghamton. He then added 19 points and 15 rebounds in an 81-73 win against Stony Brook.
This is the first time this season that Clancy Rugg has been named StatSheet America East Player of the Week. However, he has finished second once. The runner-up this week is junior Brian Voelkel from Vermont. Honorable mention goes to Mike Black, a senior from Albany. The highest ranking player from Hartford was Yolonzo Moore who finished eighth.

Peter Hooley averaged 35 minutes of playing time starting both games for Albany. He bested all America East freshmen in free throws (3.0 per game). In a 68-62 win over New Hampshire, Hooley rang up 9 points and 4 rebounds. In a 56-46 win over Hartford, he led scoring with 18 points and rebounding with 12.
This is the second StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week award for Peter Hooley. The runner-up is Jameel Warney from Stony Brook. Maurice Watson Jr. from Boston University takes honorable mention. The highest ranking freshman from Hartford was Evan Cooper who finished 7th. Hartford has 2 StatSheet America East Player of the Week wins this season.
